About this place
Setagaya Table highlights its limited-quantity pasta with additive-free sea urchin (uni), prepared without alum. You can choose a butter or cream sauce, giving the dish a different character depending on your preference. One diner who tried the cream version also praised the chewy texture of the fresh pasta. As the dish is available in limited quantities, it may be worth checking when you book if you have your heart set on trying it.
The other fresh-pasta dishes have plenty of character, too. Choose cacio e pepe with black pepper and Parmigiano Reggiano, a fiery arrabbiata made with slow-cooked tomato sauce, or bolognese served with broad, flat fresh noodles. The menu labels one option “extra spicy” for those who like a serious kick. For something to share between pasta courses, there is a hot-pot shrimp and clam ajillo with baguette, as well as fried spring rolls filled with shrimp.
Pairing Italian food with sake is another of the restaurant’s calling cards. Diners have noted its sake selection and describe it as a place to enjoy sake with food or dessert. Wine is also available. To finish, try the gluten-free Setagaya cheesecake, described as balancing cream cheese and sour cream.
